hi actually I know nothing's going to change I'm just pointing out that our system is designed around having infinite resources and also that you don't have any power.

Our system is designed around life that lumbers on step after step before falling to the ground and then dying.

By the way, sarcasm is the protest of people who are weak.

I know this isn't my fight but this is a stupid statement.

Not everyone can have power. We're all equals with someone else and we also helped design a system where power controls power. We're doing things to change the way things are, in terms of usage. The system we're using is also set in place already and most likely wont change, at least not in our lifetime. We're working on improving and perfecting what we have, and this movement would break everything we've done.

Sorry if this response is a bit off topic, its hard to word my thoughts on this.

and then burning it for fuel, right oasis?

You're so clever. :/
I don't blame him because the statement that is obviously ripped off of someone else's quote to be used as a comeback is neither true or really that relevant to the argument. He was using sarcasm as a way to point out a flaw in the argument made against him, so it wasn't really necessary to rip off something and post it as a useless attempt to try to get back at him.

Yeah, you're a pretentious richardhead. Your holier-than-thou know-everything attitude is downright loving annoying. You're not a better person for being "logical", and your emotionless facade is stupid. I'm really hating everything about you right now.
More ad-hominem and a complete lack of any actual argument, let alone a factual basis for one.

The only difference between modern slavery and traditional slavery is the methods by which the slaves are kept in line, a depressing realization.

I am not claiming authorship of that quotation, John Knowles said it. I see it as an opinion more than something factual, and of course as being relevant due to Yuki's use of sarcasm in his "argument".
The simple fact about Yuki here is that he has lost any hint of logic in his posts, his posts have quickly digressed from curse-filled misinformed rants to blatant mudslinging. However, the majority of the people posting in this thread are either making an effort to become informed about what they're talking about or avoiding any direct criticism of the movement for lack of specific information, which is without a doubt an improvement over what occurred in the first Zeitgeist thread.

Yeah well as much as I like Thar he's too passionate about stuff like this.

Wow.

This thread is optimistic. Im kind of sad now.

I wasn't trying to argue, I was insulting you. The "factual basis" is that you're a douchebag, and I hate you. Stop calling out "ad-hominem" like it means something.

Why is there another topic about this? We've all come to the conclusion that this is all conspiracy bullstuff.

Regardless of your opinion on the matter or its relevance to this thread, this is not the place to discuss how I'm the richardhead for avoiding turning a logical discussion into a insult-fest. I will no longer reply to your posts in this thread as they have clearly lost any constructive or even logical intention.

When I watched Addendum I was deeply disturbed by it, I could feel my blood pressure raise. Without a doubt, something is very wrong with society.

If by "we've all" you mean you, Yuki, and a few posters from the start of the thread, all of which refuse to consider the points presented in the films, then I suppose you have a valid point. However, I'm going to assume that you don't mean that group by "we". While the first Zeitgeist maybe not be the easiest of the three to agree with (I personally don't take everything in it as fact, though without a doubt it raises suspicion about various supposed acts of terrorism), it simply isn't very relevant to the movement. This thread focuses much more on the second two films which aim to point out the fundamental flaws in the way that our society works and how these flaws might be fixed.

civilization will collapse one day in our current state

be it temporary or permanent

i predict american society (mostly the christian portion) to either break down and riot during 2012 or after it, when the apocalypse fails to happen when they realise thier religion, that which they have dedicated thier lives too is a lie

either way america will be severely affected and im sure other countries shall feel the blow as well

This only offers solutions to some of the problems presented in a monetary system. Not all problems.
How does this address the issues with drugs? Schooling? Are todays scientists suppose to be tomorrows scientists as well and why? Although I can agree on some points they make on our current system, I completely disagree with the notion that automation is a cure all for global issues. Also for this to work everyone has to be like-minded. So let's be hypocritical and enslave ourselves to this ideology.

"why are there always poor and homeless while the upper classes sit in luxury?"
Usually because the poor and homeless are either lazy or alcoholics while the rich are company CEOs or other people of importance.
