To Christians, atheists such as yourself are idiots who should not be taken seriously. Who's right?
Anybody who approaches a task with a solution in mind, that they do not plan on even allowing to be changed, is an idiot.
Religion and political sect do not matter at that point. If you are dead-set on creating laws in a certain way without even allowing yourself to listen to the debate on the floor, you're an idiot.
Christians are these types of people. They have a book, they read the book, they refuse to let any other sort of message flow into their empty head. Debate cannot sway these people.
If you take two non-religious people and put them in a room and tell them to discuss the death penalty, there is a chance that one of them will change their minds by the end of the night. Ideas can flow about and there's no concrete barriers that need to be worked around for either side to be successful.

If a prisoner is executed while innocent, there is no chance for him to get out.
ForBut some prisoners would prefer a speedy death than to live out their lives in a cage.
And it can bring some closure to the victims' families.
AgainstMany families of death penalty offender's victims have said that seeing the man that harmed their family die did nothing for them.
And don't you think, that if the offenders want to die, it's not in the state's best interest?
ForJust because there are some people who did not find closure in the execution does not mean that some, or even the majority, of those did not.
And what they want or do not want is irrelevant to what their punishment should be.
I can go on and on like this. There are two sides, they can make points, and eventually someone can break. When you're on the losing side of a debate, there is a moment where someone says something and you brain makes a "TING" noise. It's the same sensation you get when you hit Bedrock in Minecraft -- you can go no further.
Lets try this scenario with a Christian.
