Bump necessary, because if not I would've made my own thread.

Game came out today, playing it right now.  It's VERY, very nice.  No DX11, but they have released that release-day patch they promised.  There is a console that can easily be opened with tilde, there's a list of commands somewhere.  cl_fov = ## is the command to change FOV, but if you change it differently from the default 55 degrees it looks awkward, especially when sprinting.

ok this is really really creepy

just got this when I clicked the thread ...

if you can't read that it's an e-mail from Crysis 2

of course it was just an email saying how the game is out and whatever.

It's asking you why you haven't bought it yet.

This game looks great maxed out and runs great too.

Lol. Anyway, I've played the multiplayer demo and mist say the game is absolutely stunning. My dad works for EA, so perhaps he might be bringing that home tomorrow (he gets games for like $20). Fingers crossed. >_<

It's not a fact. Cryengine 2 (Crysis 1) looks much better then Cryengine 3 (Crysis 2). Cryengine 3 is optimized for consoles, which sucks.

Optimized doesn't mean it will look worse.
For example. I can run Just Cause 2 at 120 FPS, while GTA IV at 50-70.
Just Cause 2 has a map that is MUCH large than IV, and yet it gets a better frame rate. It was well optimized, while GTA IV wasn't.
Same can apply with Crysis 2.

Sorry for bump, but...

I think "efficiency" is a better term here.

In my opinion, Crysis 2 looks better than Crysis 1.  It's loads more efficient at rendering too, I can play the first on highest at 30 FPS, and the second on highest at a constant 60 FPS.  Explosions are also much easier for the GPU in the second one.  Levels load way faster as well.

I heard Crysis2 sucked balls.

Like the PC was a stuffty console port with no detailed graphics options, buggy multiplayer, and a very meh single player.

If your computer is good enough you don't even need to worry about detailed graphics options really.  It's much easier to run the game at highest on a single GPU, but yeah I get what you mean.

Multiplayer isn't really that buggy, for me anyway.  I'm having fun on it, only the demo's release was really stuff for me because of their username/account problems.

Singleplayer is pretty fun.  I'm still playing it, though, and I love it.

Bump.

Finished singleplayer campaign a few hours ago.  Holy stuff it is amazing all throughout.

Multiplayer is now all mine :)

Limited Edition of Crysis 2 ftw  :cookieMonster:

I upgraded my PC right before it came out to be prepared to be able to play it,
But now I have no money left to buy Crysis 2 with, how ironic. x)

I like how I can run Crysis 1 on max at around 30 FPS.  Crysis 2 on max runs at straight solid 60 FPS, even in intense scenes like the mass physics when the bridge collapses.

Got Crysis 2 yesterday an am at the campaign part after you roundevous with Gould in his apartment. THE GRAPHICS ARE MIND loving ME. My dad got me the Limited Edition. :3

I'm glad the limited edition bonuses were provided free of charge and that it was just a short term "pre-purchase free upgrade" thing.

I can't imagine actually paying for a special dog tag surround, a skin and attachment for the SCAR and custom class unlock.
