Author Topic: Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo - I am so disappoint I want to disown Crytek.  (Read 1521 times)

First things first, I found out this was released from a gameplay video that Iverted made, and I was basically just like ":OOO" throughout the whole thing. Even though he's not the best player, derp.
The first thing I did was rush to the Steam store and download it.
So, grahics aside (Had to download an edit pack to run it in 64 bit), the main problem?: The insanely half-assed nature of the port from the 360. The first thing anyone notices is the "PRESS START TO BEGIN" message at the welcome. It's not much, but it's a good sign of how lazy they were, really. If you look around a bit more, you'll see an image of 360 controller in the controls menu and the ambiguous graphics settings of "Gamer," "Advanced," and "Hardcore."
But I'd be fine with all this, just some silly text and sometimes a little slowdown, were it not for one more very big thing: The servers don't work at all. You can try and join plenty of servers- none will start. The main reason for this, I think, is because EVERYTHING is an officially sponsored dedicated server that is supposed to start when there are 12 players, but there's an odd and very problematic bug currently that prevents any server from ever starting.

all in all, loving goddamn crytek.

They're trying to make up for it via 3d support
but y'know
forget them.

ati. ;_;

HOW TO START AND PLAY:
JOIN A SERVER WITH A PING.
0 Ping servers fail!

I will give this a try. If it works, I'll be certain to post it on the Crysis forum on Steam.

Yeah, servers with a ping of 0 don't work.

The graphic settings thing is so they can more easily diagnose problems without checking what every individual setting in a person's config is set to.

well i at least found the little commands to disable motion blur. so everything works alright now.

original crysis didn't exactly have the greatest multiplayer, tbh

My card supports 3d, now I just need a several thousand dollar monitor.

I completely agree with taboo, this is probably the most half-assed COD knockoff I've seen ever, despite the pretty graphics and cool stuff the nano suit can do it is just painful.

Since when do people buy games for the multipla-

Oh, that's right. Since CoD4.
