Author Topic: (UPDATING) Day/night + weather simulation.  (Read 40032 times)

I'm at a loss for words.
It appears to have worked. I swear to god I've tried this method before in the past a thousand times over.
I would be pissed I was so flagrantly wrong, but I'm overjoyed that this might be an actual solution.
I just don't understand how I overlooked it. This was the first thing I tried to do. I have no idea what I was doing wrong.

I'll have to do some tests on a live server but in the mean time, congrats on simultaneously proving me wrong and fixing one of the largest issues I've ever had. This is fantastic.
You're welcome.
What exactly are you working on the requires dynamic sky boxes anyhow?

CityRPG's day and night cycles are beautiful. You'll see when I'm done.

I assume you mean that there's more to it than this mod?
Albeit your day/night cycles would be attached to cityrp and probably not customizable.

I ask because "when I'm done" could mean months from now.

Better be better than the last thousand versions of city RP

The day and night cycle has a sun that crawls across the sky in real time. The day and night cycle has 12 stages that change every 2 in-game hours, or every 1 1/2 minutes. I'm adding a bunch of celestial objects for the night sky.

While I might add moving sun and stars and stuff as soba suggested, that does sound pretty cool.

Off Topic (A bit) : I know it says it is meant for the slate, but would it possibly work for the Summer Slopes / Slopes?

Thanks :D  :cookieMonster:

It could work for them, and I'll make a new version soon that can work with almost any map.
But for now, just slate.

Also, if you want to see this mod at work, come to my server, it's the most popular blockland server right now, and has been running this mod flawlessly.

I'm sorry, but I laughed for about an hour.

This is fantastic and perfect for Zombies in the *Bluzone, but my only question is does this change the FOV? My server runs a low FOV of 90 to reduce lag and make ghosting easier on players. I'm just going to play around with it now. Must say, it looks mind blowing. I remember using the one made by Craftsmen, but that crashed clients. This, however, looks amazing...

when i start it, the whole map gets so black that i cant even see my player, even with a light on/by me

It's dark at midnight.
Days start at midnight.
What did you expect?

Anyway, I'm working on v2 now.

Looking forward to it! This mod is excellent.

Bug: Two Skyboxes on map reset.
The mod was not equipped to deal with map changes.
Since technically, this mod was supposed to eliminate the need to change between different slate maps.
