Author Topic: Port Forwarding on a D-link 655  (Read 1939 times)

What's wrong with Hamachi? It creates a safe network between and your bro without the actual need of another wire in your computer. Just make a lan server and tell your brother to connect to it.
If his brother and him are connected to the same router, Hamachi would be completely redundant.

When you reset the router, it should be able to  reconnect to the internet and all will be well

just use the default login info and set up port forwarding

No real port forwardings, so I'm good.

or if you still don't get it from there;

Ok, thanks.
What do I need to do for Gmod though. Anything special?

The forget are you talking about?

Do you not have a scroll function on your mouse/track pad?

Scroll down, find gmod and work from there.

First, back up all previously forwarded ports. You may lose them.

Second, you'll want to check with whoever is in charge of the router. They may have changed the password.

Third, check for any viruses or trojans. They may be preventing you from logging in.

Viruses or Trojans on a router?

Wat?

Viruses or Trojans on a router?

Wat?
They make viruses for everything.

They make viruses for everything.
Even for wristwatches?

Router OS's are so basic and stable and usually protected so a virus would be a very unlikely thing.

Trojans only affect computers with a conscious biological interface, because you have to download the front end that the trojan rides on.

First, back up all previously forwarded ports

i wasnt aware you could do that lol

It's called writing things down.
Try it sometime.

or screenshot, much less effort, more legible results

There's no need to do it.

And there's no such thing as a virus for a router, the OS on a router is so rudimentary and simple, it'd be a waste of time to make a virus for it.

especially considering you couldn't get stuff out of it.

Actually, you could probably intercept all data flowing through the router and stream it to an external recorder.  That could be useful.

i'm in.
Thanks guys.

The forget are you talking about?
That I needed to keep, anyways.

Nah.

Router doesn't save any of the data going through it.

It just relays it from your modem.

E.G;

No way to intercept data from a 1 way path.
