Author Topic: How To Lucid Dream  (Read 33567 times)

There has been a lot of talk about lucid dreams recently.

Uh... No?

Uh... No?

Derp 10 pages, just because its not split into several topics doesn't make it undiscussed.

I just lucid dreamed last night... In a weird way. Was my first time.

About a minute into the dream and I realized I was dreaming and I took control of it. When I finally woke up I just went about my normal activities. Only to wake up again.

So I had a lucid dream in a dream. Is that even possible? What the forget?

I thought you meant in general, not on the forums. I hvaen't heard of it in like, at least a year. Never noticed that topic.

I believe thats called a "false awakening" to counter this, try doing a reality check every time you wake up.

...try doing a reality check every time you wake up.

Best Method: First person you see, stab them as hard as you can with the closest sharp object. If the screaming doesn't wake you up, you're awake.

Tee hee

What if you posted on these forums in a dream, woke up and... THE POST WAS STILL THERE.

THAT WOULD MAKE YOU THINK WOULDN'T IT HMM?

I've never had a lucid dream as far as I can remember, but I've woken up from a dream in a dream before. It was freaky.

If I ever had the motivation to find a PDF reader, I'd waste no time in reading this. But can someone please define "lucid dreaming" for me? Off-topic: Also, what does "tl;dr" mean?

I'm totally going to try this next time I go lucid.

I'll make a thread called 'I'm totally lucid bro' and see if its still there when I wake up.
Off-topic: Also, what does "tl;dr" mean?
It stands for "Too long, didn't read"

I'll quote the intro:

We all have dreams, even if we canʼt remember them. These strange and mysterious
adventures that go on in our head during our sleep often donʼt get the attention they
deserve -- we donʼt put much focus on them and most of us donʼt really care so much
about our dreams. But what many of us donʼt know is how much fun dreams can be.
Itʼs called “lucid dreaming”, when a person who is dreaming becomes aware they are
asleep and can consciously change the dream. In fact every single aspect of a dream can
be controlled. The location, the objects, the people, the story. Even the smaller details like
the color of objects, the brightness of the sky, the sound of the wind. Itʼs all entirely
controllable. Unfortunately, many of us do not understand lucid dreaming, or are unaware
how to achieve a dream of such a nature. But and all it takes is a little time and persistence.

The easiest method for a beginner is DILD, which Iʼll be covering. To achieve a DILD, you
can do a range of things. One of them is select an “RC”. An RC is a reality check, which is
used by dreamers to confirm whether they are asleep or awake. Common reality checks
are to count your fingers (in dreams, youʼll have too many or too few fingers-- often people
also have fingers of differing lengths) plug your nose (in dreams, while plugging your nose,
you can still breathe) or to check an alarm clock (which will show distorted patterns on the
interface) or check an brown townog clock repeatedly (if dreaming, hands on brown townog clocks will
Another method would be by looking into a mirror, but that is not recommended as it can quickly turn a dream into a nightmare and you may lose control.

I used to pinch myself in the cheek regularly to check to see if I'm dreaming or not.
Once I got into the habit, I became more and more aware of when I was dreaming.

Even though I rarely lucid dream, there is no reason not to carry a totem around!
