Author Topic: What happened to WinBin? - Finally, I get to ask this (Read 2783 times)

I know a website that went by the name of WinBin. The website allowed Fail Add-Ons and Crap-Addons on the site, like the Mini Nuke, Ion Cannon, etc. MunkeyCheez showed it to me, well, he showed a picture of the Airliner when it was released on WinBin. Then of course, it had WinBin's logo of a boy, supposedly IcyGamma's human form, holding his BL avatar. And the word Fail Bin had the Fail crossed out and Win under it.

I really loved the site, until apparently someone asked IcyGamma to shut down the site. I was annoyed, because that is pretty much the only site that has a nuturing enviroment for Fail and Crap-ons.

So I want to ask a few questions:

1. Who asked Icy to shut down WinBin?
2. Why was it shut down?

Those are the only questions I have for now. I'll simply post them later.

I predict that this thread will attract Sheath. I'm not sure if he really is IcyGamma, but if he is I am very sure that this thread will attract his attention.

WinBin closed down for several reasons. The first was that its was largely an attempt to get traffic to re-direct to the AfterBlock site. It actually worked, the website was flooded with views. However it attracted extremely dire attention from Ephialtes. As a result I got banned from selective RTB services (which wasn't unexpected) but also Ephi claims my ID was in question. I'm not sure how legitimate that claim was but it definitely made me uncomfortable running the site. Furthermore, people began to harass me, some getting angry about the website while others constantly asked me to find them add-ons personally to the point it became overwhelming.

That's the problem with these forums, people even care that you have fail or crap add-ons.

Also, it shoulden't be a problem if you post fail or crap-ons because there not allowed on the forum, but allowed on your website.
