Author Topic: Old Zombie Mod Brick Damage (v8)  (Read 2072 times)

Anyone remember how in the very, very old zombie mod the zombies would actually kill the bricks? Like, you think you're all fine standing on that roof until the whole building crumbles underneath you- lending you to a painful and gory death of an awaiting zombie horde, starving for your very flesh!

But yeah, back to the point, I'm not actually asking for the v8 zombies, but more specifically the old method of brick damage. I do quite prefer that over the current one, where certain sized bricks in a zone surrounding the zombie just fake kill.

It was more exciting and cooler sitting inside a building and slowly stuffting yourself as you could hear individual bricks break as the horde encircles you.

So, may I suggest or request that there could perhaps a new, toggleable feature like this be created either by Rotondo himself or another player. It would be incredible and an utter nostalgasm.

I already talked to rotondo for kill brick damage instead of fakekill. He said he would possibly add it and that was two years ago.

Just like he said he'd give the smoker a better tongue model... Two years ago...

But quite seriously, I do miss the old brick damage.

I think it would be great to give this idea a kick-start and I hope somebody can recreate it.

Oh, please do! Maybe you could make a whole different zombie? Like, with Rotondo's there is the Standard Zombie... Perhaps you could have a KillBrick Zombie? But I'm just throwing things out there, really.

Zombie brick - any amount of zombies spawn from this brick at the same time. Which is different from regular vehicle spawn.

Zombie wall - unbreakable wall which was also perfect for other builds.

Zombie player - player becomes a zombie when dead.


it would be cool if the zombies could climb over things like in national socialist Zombies

That'd be cool for earthquakes 'n stuff.

The one problem though Iban is that one standard zombie can take down over 15 bricks in one hit. In v8 the zombies destroyed one brick every two seconds. So even if there is kill brick instead they will tear down our defenses in a matter of seconds, especially the tank.

All of those are actually in ZAPT, you'll find. Well, save for the Zombie Wall. I remember there being a zombie wall that was just a 16*16 wall that was actually quite handy... But the new Baseplate Blocks could work just as well.

Permanently destroying bricks? Sounds like a bad idea being able to lose a build via a mini-game.
You'd have to re-upload your build after every round/ 5 minuets or so. Admins couldn't leave the mini up to do something else...

If its the sound effect that you like, use ZAPT. Zombies don't just break bricks in their radius, they have to break them manually.......

There was an add-on for this but was failed and crap-oned. Don't expect this to be put in anything.
