It looks like there was a huge disaster or something and there is some kind of weird stone that looks like cobblestone with the color of sand. here are some pictures:
The weird "sandstone"

A big mesa sitting in front of the spawn

The ground is just sand and rock for a while then it changes to a normal landscape

A better look at the weird stone

More of the huge Mesa

That happens sometimes

And yes, sandstone is now randomly generated, no fear of herobrine

The low fog makes it looks like some kind of sanctuary place.

because there totally isn't a thread for this kind of thing.

I figured out it was sandstone after looking at the wiki, but the world is still really weird.

I'm going to ignore you since whenever you post your usually being an ass

I love those open stone places. If you look around there tends to be quite a bit of surface level iron there.

This

Why does nobody post in the actual minecraft thread, so we can have a clean forum?

Totally just found a dungeon above surface using the seed "Flatlands" on the SMP server listed on OP.

Oh boo hoo.
Someone created a thread of something he wants to talk about without the risk of posting in an already existing big thread where his post would get lost in a few seconds anyways.
I'd rather create a new thread about a very interesting subject that I'd like to talk about in peace instead of posting in a megathread where everyone would ignore my post since there's other important stuff to discuss about. Not to mention that some peoples seriously can't be assed to scroll 50 pages back just to check if hopefully someone replied to my message in one of those 50 pages.

I have no idea what you're talking about, I see plenty of people get replied to. I myself, start from the newest post I haven't seen and work my way to the most recent one, reading all the posts.
If your post gets ignored, do what a lot of people do, quote it in the thread and post it. Then more people will see it.
I realize how people want to get replies, but this is just getting out of hand at this point. There's at the least a new Minecraft thread each day. Some days more.
