Author Topic: P90X- A mix of rape and torture  (Read 1525 times)

So my friend gave me his P90X DVDs and I decided to start today. It is pretty brutal. If you guys want I will post what I had to do basically, I wouldn't consider it illegal telling you what is on the DVDs since most of it is stretching and such I cannot explain. But I can show you the actual workouts we did.

Day 1: Chest and Back
5 minute warmup
Standard pushups. They said they were going to do 30 so I did 30 too to try and hang with them, sadly I had no idea there was going to be 20 more types of pushups.
Wide pullups: They did like 20 I only did 10 barely, and again I didn't know there was going to be like 40 more sets.
Military Pushups: I did 15 and was already done with pushups, but there was much more to come.
Chinups: This is where I started going down hill fast, only 4.
Wide pushups: 15, was almost torture getting to 15, I was ready to give up and it wasn't even half way over.
Narrow pullups: Did 3, again I was already spent.
Declined pushups: struggled out 15 again but maybe blacked out a bit.
Raise your pants: Google it, I only had 25 lb dumbells but you want to do only 8-12 reps ideally, I did 20 with 25 so I need bigger weights
Diamond pushups: Only did 5, these are hard as forget.
Lawnmowers: google again, did 20 each arm 25 lbs.
Divebomber pushups: did 6, these are really hard on my computer gamer back
Back flies: google them, did 25 lbs. 15 reps
Wide pullups: I only did 1, man I was dying
Wide pushups: forget you again!? This is where he revealed we were doing everything over again in a different order, did 10
Chinups: 3
Military pushups: 8, military is where they are real close to you.
Narrow pullups: 2, god save me
Wide pushups: 10
Raise your pants: 10 25 lbs.
declined pushups: 6
Lawnmowers: 20 25 lbs.
Diamond pushups: 5
Back Flies: 10 25 lbs.
Divebomber pushups: Not even 1 I was too exhausted.
5 minute cooldown.

I am supposed to do the ab ripper DVD too but I am scared.

i say you should go ahead and try out the tower 200 :cookieMonster:

Plyometrics is the hardest IMO.

Plyometrics is the hardest IMO.

That's tomorrow and cardio is my weakest area by far. Also this wasn't really hard, but I'm not used to such muscle endurance, I've been working out like 2 months and I can do a lot of pushups and pullups in 1 set but multiple sets kill me.

Are you doing it to lose weight? If you follow everything you really do see changes. My fat ass lost 22 pounds :D

Lol nah, I am currently 190 lbs. and I am 6'6 so I am like 30-40 lbs. under a healthy weight for my height. Also being able to do 10 pullups the first time should have shown I wasn't fat, unless I was a fatty with some really nice upper strength. Also 30 minutes later I am not sore at all, now I feel like I was really slacking, or my muscles are just numb from the intense stress, or the 5 minutes before and after stretching really helped work it out.

My 50-something year old science teacher is doing P90X with her husband.

Be sure you consume a lot of protein if you are trying to build muscle.

I take protein shakes twice a day and creatine every day. I also drink 20 glasses of water and I eat lots of tuna, and I take multivitamins. Should see what my dad got but he won't let me use any of it, he has NOS, recovery powder, protein, some kind of sea algae pills, calcium pills, and 2 other ones I don't know what they do. He won't let me use any of it and he broke his back and can't use it lol.

Just did the plyometrics, omg that was so loving bad. 10 minutes in my legs were rubber and there was 40 minutes left. by the half way point I was dying and barely keeping up. 75% of the way through I hit the wall though and then I felt super energized and after it was over I wanted to keep going, so I feel good I stuck to it, I almost quit about 50 times around the middle.

The ab ripper is 364 sit ups in a few minutes, just so you know.

You're going to be sore as hell tomorrow.
