Author Topic: Should I get CivilizationV?  (Read 2106 times)

Wait, what? What are you talking about? How can you say that?Oh, thats why.

Just saying, if you play the game/demo on Windows XP or just DirectX 9, the game will not allow you to choose settings higher than "medium".  It requires DirectX 10 to go any higher up, and DirectX 11 (with a DX11-working GPU) in order to go to the highest with tessellation (which looks REALLY awesome on the terrain).

The game itself is very fun, I love it and can't stop playing.  My only irk is that the game is subject to many crashes and I am 100% suspecting its the game's coding having some incompatibility with my hardware.
Hey, yeah I noticed you're my only friend on Steam that has it.

So, I played it last night, I love it.

I have Civ 5 and I love it.
It's not one of those games you can play 20 times in a row, but I find myself playing a round at least once a week to every other week. Which is more than I even play Blockland at this point. I'd say it's worth it.

My only problem with it is that my girlfriend has Civ 4 so when I try playing that again I just cant get over how much more I like Civ 5.

I miss religions from Civ4 though.

Nothing else made Civ4 more fun when you are the first to discover both Christianity and Islam.

I also have civi5 and I also like it.
Very fun, need someone else to play with though, as everyone on my friends list is either not on or something.
On that note, is multiplayer more fun? Because I seem never to find any servers that the host isn't afk.

This is true, but I am kinda glad it is gone because it caused other civs to declare war on me for bullstuff reasons.

I prefer single player. Most people on multiplayer are boring and/or annoying and most servers lag alot.
There are only ever a couple servers up at a time.

You have fallen under a heathen religion! -2.

But you are at war with our enemy, +5.

Almost finished my first game.

2003 AD and I own nearly all of South America, only other civilization is a City-State that I basically have on a leash. I love this game, but like you said, I miss founding a religion. :/

But anyways. :D

I built three giant death machines and went crazy.  One of them can solo against a level 15 city and a medium army.

I love getting others into a position where if they do anything wrong you click your fingers and explode them
:D

I remember that after conquering everyone but Japan I had gotten such a high income of gold per turn and stockpiled so much gold that I pretty much bought up an entire arsenal of ICBMs and GDRs.

Damn. I lost...

Napoleon won a time victory, and a few minutes after my last post in this thread, in around 2007 the whole world, save China and Japan, declared war on me. I didn't even do anything. :c

Oasis, do i have you on steam?

Oasis, do i have you on steam?
No idea, message me on Steam tomorrow.

I stupidly named myself: Oasisofblockland
:c
Downloading demo.
Eh, don't base anything on the demo, it only lets you play for a few turns. I think if you liked the other Civ games, this one is better and you will enjoy it.
