Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious and eccentric Time Lord known as the Doctor who travels through time and space in his time machine, the TARDIS (an acronym for Time And Relative Dimension(s) In Space), which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s British police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, faces a variety of foes and saves civilisations, helping people and righting wrongs.

I just started watching this a few weeks back when BBCA restarted the series. I've been watching it on netflix and just finished the last episode of season 3.

It's a really cool show and recommend you guys watch it.

I think there was a thread about a year or two ago, but I can't quite remember.

It's kind of old, like Star Trek for British people almost. I've been meaning to watch it for a time now, but never really had a chance to.

Doctor Who is awesome.

Also, on the 2010 Christmas special, there is a GASHUNK scene.

The old ones are old.

The new ones, from 2005 (?) and on aren't.

I still say that Christopher Eccleston was better than David Tenant.
But I like Matt Smith. <3

And Next Friday, when Comic Relief is on, there shall be a Doctor Who short.
Which, shall possibly lay the way slightly for the Easter Special, which is the first episode of the new series.

The always show a new episode from the series on Christmas Day, then on Comic/Sports relief, there is a jokey short, then on Easter Sunday, the first Episode comes out, then for a few weeks into Summer, every saturday is a new episode.
Then the series ends, until Children In Need shows an appeal-y short, before Christmas.

The cycle goes on!

I should mention, I'm watching the series that's the story of the 9th Doctor and on, not the stuff made way back when.

The first episode I watched was actually the season finale of the last season.

Ecclestone! <3<3<3

He is by far the best. It's such a shame that he only had one series.
They were a really good renewal of Doctor Who.

What Episode are you on now?
Seen the Slitheen or the Daleks yet?

Oh god I hate those so much.

Doctor Who is incredible, I've seen a lot of the newer episodes (but not all of them) since the 9th doctor. My dad also has a TON of older doctor who dvds in the attic.

Farting space aliens, crab people who hold translator orbs that later shoot lightning bolts, space planet or ancient earth with devil in center.

I can't take it seriously.

I've got an episode set from the 1st series somewhere.
The Doctor is barely in it, because at the time, the actor is compulsoraly taking his 4 weeks holiday.

It's really surreal, but oddly, as amazing as the newer ones with all the effects they can put in.

It's a real shame that the BBC never kept copies of all the old episodes.
At the time, they never saw the need to archive or keep all the copies of their shows.
They never had re-runs, so they didn't need the tape after they'd showed it for a week.

They'd either discard the tape or record over it. What a shame.
Most of the old tapes are actually either luckily preserved copies, or the diting of a number of tapes that were copied by viewers at the time.

It is a children's program.
If you watch it as a child though, I do believe it's much easier to get hooked.
But, it is easier to tell that either, I'm growing up from it, or they're targeting younger audiences with the newer series.
It was very much young child, pre-teen orientated.
But, it was still pretty good.

Edit: I have a life-sized Weeping Angel cut-out that I won from the Doctor Who magazine!
If I'm able to, I'll take a picture and post it.

I often find myself laughing throughout each episode and it's because some things are just hilarious, like the Abzorbaloff which was in my favorite episode.

The show is just really interesting and is filled with plot twists and suspense. I loved finding out who the Face of Boe was.

Wait, what? I don't think Doctor who is a children's show at all. What with all of it's romance and loveual innuendo.

I hear there's a doctor who MMO coming out fairly soon.
