If you take the idea further, you can neither be born or die, because there is just the cause and the action/event(idk if that's how it's said in english) and you and you "living" is just causes causing events.

it just saddens me that after all this evidence that goes against it, people still need religion to explain to them how we got here

it's just depressing, really. i'd give it a few hundred years before everyone's atheist

Seriously, that stuff isn't possible.
Even if you'd execute every single person believing some sort of a god exists, at some point someone would still invent a new religion for new ignorant and/or uninformed etc. people.

What doe it mean to live a good life?

Edit: To start off; is it worth it? Can it be compatible with the teachings of old religious scripts? Is it worth doing something that is considered wrong by the majority of the people.
