Drive defencive (I.E. get ready to evade a car at the last second)
When you are driving, no matter where you are driving, imagin everyone DOSNT know how to drive. They can and will slam on the breaks on a green light in a heart beat.
Obviously follow rule signs, lights, etc and always obey cops (If he becomes the new traffic light)
Seatbelt needs no explination
Since you will be driving in a assumed busy city, there is no need to have the car go fast or accelerate till the red light. Instead of accelerating until you are 100ft from the light and having to slam the breaks, stop accelerating at let's say 200-300ft and have momentum take you. Your not on a boat where it slows you down immediately, you have wheels (incase you forget lol)
This might not include you but just incase:
Alot of my girl_friends (and only a small amount of guys) are scared to drive because the cars get so close on the lanes that they fear they will get hit. Relax and don't worry, I would recommend driving the car BEFORE driving into public places so that not only do you know how responsive the car is but also you get a feeling of the car. When you fully sync yourself with the car, you know how much space you have between the car and the object (very helpful for parking)
My dad taught me that "anyone can drive but to be the best driver, you drive for everyone else"
That's some tips I know. Ask and I can help you out.
