i have a geat metabolisim

mcdonalds aint got nothing on this stuff

I don't make fun of people for being fat because if my metabolism wasn't so great I would be a fatty myself I eat tons of stuff. You can only make fun of fat people if you have a horrible metabolism but eat 600 calories a day and work out 3 hours a day. My metabolism is slowly going downhill though, I was 130 lbs. when I graduated my senior year, which is about 80 lbs. under the ideal weight for someone 6'4-6'6. Now I weigh almost 200 but it has stayed between 180-195 for like a year now.

BMI is a useless measurement. Knowing what percentage of your weight is body fat, muscle, and other tissue is a far better metric for knowing your general level of physical health.

and people shrug off taking care of themselves because cancer/diabetes/heart disease is JUST "in the family" lol

its the same stuff. people want to believe in bad luck, its easier then taking action and preventing things.
Indeed. I know a few people have asked me for fitness advice from this forum but when I tell them they have to do actual work to stay fit and even more to get stronger it isn't the answer they want to hear.

For the love of my good friend Jesus, don't skip meals because you think eating makes you fat!

Your body uses fat as a final option when you are starving, so your body will eat your muscle away before it eats the fat. So yes never skip meals, never starve, you're gonna have to suck it up and work out. Also muscles use more calories than fat so getting a lot of muscle will make you burn 2-3x as much calories just from walking around doing nothing.

starving works if you dont care about muscles though lol

My metabolism is moderate, but I know people who have ended up fat, and I always skip breakfast (and sometimes dinner) because I don't wanna be chubby...
NEVER
SKIP
BREAKFAST
ever.

This is why you have such pinchable cheeks, little girl.

Even on days that I have only 300 calories, they're all in the Breakfast meal.

My metabolism is rather high, but my genes are not built to be small. All the men in my family are built like tanks. My Grandfather played College Football, my Uncle did College Wrestling in the largest division.

I remember when I was really little and some kids were playing football. I hated sports, but they needed me to even teams so I reluctantly obliged. Round after round I would walk with 3 people clinging on me to the goal area. I was twice their size, independently, and a year younger than them.

Not only that, but I gain muscle mass easy. If I actually do get up off my ass and work, I start to notice gigantic bulges in my arm in a matter of days. I've only worked 21 hours since Saturday at my new job, but I can feel definition in my forearms already. It's great.

I've been eating for 14 years and Im still skinny  :cookieMonster:

I highly recommend this movie. It goes very in depth about what really causes obesity and takes a big shot at healthy eating, and the obesity, "epidemic" in America.

I'm going to watch this right now.

Impressions going in:
A silly documentary where Tom Naughton eats nothing but junk food for a period of time and shows it's possible to lose weight doing so, which no one argues since the fundamental rule of losing weight is to use more energy than you consume. This approach neglects any aspect of malnourishment that may result from maintaining a poorly balanced diet for extended periods of time. I'm going into this with an open, but highly skeptic, mind.

Me and my 17.5 BMI...

What is also weird is that I can run faster than my friend that's skinny as hell and plays soccer all the time :O

This has to be a joke.

Every time I eat fast food I feel like I'm dying. My bowels implode and it takes everything I have not to just lay down on the sofa and cry.

I work in fast food and I can tell you from prep to fry to serve there is not a single ounce of nutrition added. It's not food it's biomass.
