Today I purchased a new computer. My budget was $999 NZ. I picked up one of my favorite brands, Compaq (which I understand some loathe-- personally I find Compaq and HP to be the best... and Asus perhaps). Its all black, with a conservative textured case and a beautiful glossy surround for the screen.

This is my first decent computer purchase since the last day of 2007. :D

It has...

i3 2.40ghz processor
2GB ram (expandable to 8GB apparently, I might consider 4GB in the not so distant future)
512mb ATI Radeon dedicated graphics
500gb HD

Now for my price I think I did a damn good job finding a computer that can handle most of my games on low to moderate settings. Its screen is bigger than my old computer too. Its got Win 7 of course, I'm enjoying using it as the last Windows edition I worked on was XP. :U

Naturally some of you here have computers that blow mine away. However, lets look at my old MacBook.

2.0ghz Intel Core Duo
1GB ram
128mb Integrated Intel GMA X1300
80GB HD

Something tells me I'm going to have a lot of fun with my games now, because after the rape speeds I've been through for the last 3 years it really can't get worse. I've now upgraded to something a little more acceptable. c:
