Author Topic: Barack Obama -> Facing possible impeachment.  (Read 7003 times)

Bah, the other guy was horrible but this was not a good thing to do. Maybe he had his reasons...?

Actually considering there was not a declaration of war, as Commander of the armed forces he was allowed to make this move.

I've been told that it wasn't considered a military attack.

Thank loving god, this might be good actually, maybe the vice president won't forget our country this time.

didn't he also steal stock or something? one of my friends said that

Such a verifiable source!

If this is true, he most likely won't be impeached... He will resign from office if it is inevitable that he will be impeached.

obama did his homework. what a cool guy. he's one of those black people i'd like to hang out with.

Didn't Bush start the war in Afghanistan without Congress? He wasn't impeached... Also are we really in war, I didn't realize the no-fly zone counted as one.

It has already been mentioned, but I am going to reemphasize the point.

Barack Obama will not get impeached because he was acting entirely within the War Powers Act of 1973. He notified Congress of his actions, and sixty days have not yet passed. If soldiers are still committed to the action in Libya after sixty days (which Obama has already stated will not be the case) and Congress has not approved the action, then someone might have grounds for impeachment. As it is, Obama has done nothing wrong.

As Nitramj pointed out, Bush started his actions in the Middle East without congressional approval. As we all already know, he would receive the approval for it. Thus, Bush, like Obama, did not perform an unconstitutional action either.

"The War Powers Resolution of 1973 (50 U.S.C. 1541–1548) was a United States Congress joint resolution providing that the President can send U.S. armed forces into action abroad only by authorization of Congress or if the United States is already under attack or serious threat. The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action this was done and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days it hasn't been 60 days, with a further 30 day withdrawal period, without an authorization of the use of military force or a declaration of war."

Obama has not broken the law.
But.. we aren't under attack and there is no serious threat..

We might have Biden (or however you say his name) as president soon. Like Ephialtes said, though, that was not a very detailed article and might not be reliable.

He's obviously a Communist!  And a Socialist!  AND he's BLACK!

What the forget America were you thinking!?

If quaddaffi or whoever wins, they can then start a war with the US, which is a threat.
