Author Topic: Is this even possible?  (Read 1052 times)

I am in the middle of a very big testweek, testweeks sound normal and easy (or at least "Possible") but at our school you might think about suiciding, because it is hard as hell and it will make you want to cut your balls off. I will explain this now.

A testweek at our school is this:

You get 12 test for 12 difrent subjects: Dutch (Because I am Dutch) German, French, English, Latin, Greek, Maths, Geographic, Biologie, Physics,History and Religion.

You get ALL these tests in ONE week.

Those test are HUGE, when I say HUGE I mean HUGE, for every single test you would need 1 week to learn to get a reasonable mark.

For example: Latin, I have to know a WHOLE BOOK, A loving WHOLE THING, over 1000 words in Latin, That's not all, GRAMMAR this may sound easy but with latin it's not, I have to learn 10 totally difrent forms of one word, for example:

Rosa     Rosae          It's difrent for every word, and also you have to know when you should use those
Rosae   Rosarum      forms of the words, and this is only the basics from what I have to learn from this
Rosae   Rosis           Grammar subject in Latin.
Rosam  Rosas
Rosa     Rosis

That is half the size of one test, AND I HAVE TO DO 12?! holy stuff!
Also, I have 4 testweeks per year, and the marks you get there count dubble.

Tell me, is this possible? how can I do this?

Jesus Christ kid, where the hell do you go to school at that makes you take five foreign language classes in one year? まほ~

It's pretty common in a lot of countries to be fluent in 2-3 languages before you're out of the equivalent of junior high. He is dutch so it is 4, but still seems excessive.I want to know why he needs to learn so much pointless languages.

Your spelling different "difrent"

It's obviously one of those catholic schools seeing as how he's got to take not only religion class, but Greek and Latin as well.  It sounds like one of those schools for like Dutch royalty though where they hold the children up to unbelievable expectations so when they graduate, they're backed by money and an outstanding education to get them into pretty much any college they want internationally. Whether or not it completely robs them of a normal childhood is something that isn't a concern in most places, and I'd imagine especially not in a catholic school in Holland.

Don't feel so down now OP, one day when you're sitting in a scriptorium writing up illuminated texts for the catholic church, you can put that Religion, Greek, and Latin to good work. マホ~

Well the school system in the Netherlands is difrent then in other countries,

when you're 4 years old you go to Primary school, in the last year you get "Stalked" and tested for what kind of schools you can do.

VMB (low) ==> MBO or a job ==> Job after MBO
Primary School  HBO (high/normal) ==> HBO/university or job ==> Job after HBO or University
VWO (Very High) ==>University/job ==> Job

VMB HBO VWO Are kind of High Schools

I do VWO, you have 2 kinds of VWO, Atheneum and Gymnasium (Ok laugh at this, done laughing yet?)
I do Gymnasium, Gymnasium is not a place where you do sports in the Netherlands its a kind of High school It's basicly the same as Atheneum but then with Greek and Latin.

I'd just fail and then design some stupid little thing people will pay $10 for and get rich, like a snuggie. Then laugh at your peers taking 10 years of schooling to be a doctor.

no stuff

Our school is Catholic but not so catholic, I am not catholic. I said "Religion" not Christianity our subject for Religion is Islam ATM.

"they're backed by money and an outstanding education to get them into pretty much any college they want internationally."

True, you get rich after doing this and you will be very high educated.
