I get the attached image as an error message when steam starts up, I just reinstalled and it still says it. Anyone have any knowledge of what to do about this.

Is this actually what I should do or is it something that will forget stuff up? I'm hesitant to do anything that starts with "delete."

Well I did and ran steam it did an update and the same error message came up, the file is there again.

Open your steam folder, and delete everything but steam.exe and the steamapps folder.

Then when its all poof'd into recycle bin, empty bin.

When empty, run the steam.exe in your steam folder, it'll run an update, and it should work.

I just remembered I have all my app files backed up on my portable harddrive so i can just delete it completely.

I think it had something to do with the new steam guard it's fixed now.
