um, it wasn't really anyone that defined most of those things, it was the rotation of the earth. 1 rotation on it's axis = 1 day, 1 rotation around the sun = 1 year. It just so happens the number of rotations on its axis during one rotation around the sun isn't an integer, it's 1/4 of a turn more. no one made a little mistake.
humans define things based on our interpretation, including numbers, and it was whoever thought they defined the second based on the sun's rotation that made a mistake.

/facepalm

this doesn't have anything to do with seconds. it has to do with how many times the earth turns on its axis during one full orbit around the sun.

yes and somebody out there misninterpreted how long that takes.

They didn't misinterpret it... that's just how it works... in the time it takes for the earth to orbit the sun, there is time for just over 365 rotations of the earth on its axis. No one misinterpreted anything. Its just the way it works. Its not that hard to understand, especially if you're 25. Happy birthday c:

Edit: I mean sure, we could have made every day a few seconds/minutes longer so there were an even number of days in the year, but then every day the time we're saying it is would get a little farther from the actual time, and eventually when we're saying it's noon it would be the middle of the night. See what i mean?

humans defined what we have a second.
this was based on the sun.
they made a mistake as to the actual lenght of that and/or how many of them go into each other unit of time.
:Y

Yay, happy Birthday! :D

And you smell like one too. Hur.

Yesterday was baller as forget. Maxed out 3 characters in Basara and grew ever closer to 100% story completion. Then we played Brawl for like 2 hours followed by some Trauma Center. Got more gifts than I'll need. o3o
