Author Topic: Inflatable Dinghy  (Read 7518 times)

I was just playing blockland and it hit me that there aren't many boat add-ons. We have the lava boat ,the raft, and that's really it. I know stratfortress made some nice boats, but they can only perform on a solid surface. Yes, I know there are also others but most of them are failed or incomplete.

So I thought maybe one of those inflatable boats would be nice. I would model one and ask someone else to script it, but I suck at modeling too...

OK! I DID IT! I MADE MY OWN MODEL!(woot!)
SINCE THIS IS NO LONGER A COMPLETE REQUEST, BUT RATHER A SIMPLE REQUEST OF HELP FINISHING  THIS, I'VE DECIDED TO MOVE THE TOPIC TO MODIFICATION HELP.

Something like what I was thinking of:

How about a time limit on it?
Cause if you think about it, there is a possibility that it could reach the bot limit.

LEGO version for more accuracy.

... Bot limit... What? Huh? Where are you coming from?

At first I was like "Whaaa? wtf is he talking about??" But then I sorta realized what you meant.

So do you mean like a respawn time?(after a while of no interaction or occupancy, the boat destroys itself and respawns) cuz that would be a useful feature for all vehicles in BL

Like the black one, but with a mounted motor on the back for more space aboard, rather than the control panel in the center

Edit:

Yeah, like the small yellow boat down there! Only a bit bigger and black.

A quick example I made.

Sounds epic, it would be an item like the skis, only it would be one use. If no one was in it for too long, it poofs(so you don't have a ton of these floating everywhere)

Give me a model and I'll make it, inflator item and all.

i own one of these it's called an inflatable dingy
there's a bench across the middle and handles along the sides for people to sit on the sides

They fun?

Well, actually the idea I had in mind was just a vehicle to spawn like the boat, jeep, etc.
But your idea sounds cool too, maybe there should be a RTB Pref with a setting like a drop down menu with 3 settings

Item
Vehicle
Both

Give me a model and I'll make it, inflator item and all.

I can't model worth a crap and the only tutorials I can find are outdated.
I can probably find a model on turbosquid or someplace like that, but I'm not sure if that's "allowed."

Thank you! That's the word I was looking for!

You have an outboard on it?
sounds familiar but i forget what that is

I could model it but I have no idea how to model a boat. I only modeled one-handed items and 4-wheeled vehicles in my life. And some random stuff but not intended to be used for anything (cups, model tests etc.).

I could model the base of it in Blender (No armatures/mountpoints etc.), it wouldn't be hard, then give it to someone to polish it.

Ok' I'm modeling my own but I will need someone else to do the other things, such as the script, mountpoints, textures(if necessary,)etc.

My progress so far:
