Lucky Star eh? Good choice. That was my first stepping stone into the deeper world of anime.
Here are my suggestions.
-Rozen Maiden
-Medabots
-Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (exposure to this will turn you into a man)
-K-ON
-Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica)
-Death Note (I wonder if you can get away with this...)
-Monster Rancher
-Spice and Wolf

These are good anime that I can remember that are appropriate for an eleven year old (I think).
If I remember any more I will post them.
