Author Topic: Output event - Ban/Kickplayer (time)  (Read 1361 times)

I was just wondering if there was anyway for an event to ban a player's id for a set time without having to do it myself.  It doesn't seem possible with bot events, and I'm not sure with VCE.  If it doesn't exsist, then I would request it.

No. That would be the worst event ever. What are you going to do - someone clicks a brick and gets banned from the server? There's a reason admins control banning/kicking on their own.

The logic

Out of bounds areas (which you must blatantly 'break' the barriers or rules of the server build to get to) could be covered in said bricks. You could add some VCE to make admin-only areas automatically enforced as such.

Just make sure you disable them for freebuilds..

I support this. It could be abusive outside of a Host/admin controlled minigame, but like Eksi said, turn it off before hosting a freebuild so they don't start banning each other.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to make events only work if the owner of the brick is an admin, I would highly suggest that if it were to be made.

this sounds like it could be the most abusive add-on ever

Agreed.

This would be an horrible event, unless only super admins or host can use it
Otherwise players would abuse it

Instead of banning someone who went out of bounds, why not kill/teleport him back?

Because, they're wasting a player slot on the server getting out of the map.

And, the admin might be too busy/afk to just manually ban them.

Well of course. It would be host only.

I'm not wanting this event for amusement, but for rather more control.

You got my point.
The reason being why I want this event is because I need to be able to control my server without actually having to monitor it constantly.  And using VCE and other events will help.

How about making it announce "(victim) got bricked by (brickowner)"?

Like, when the person gets kicked/banned or are you talking about something completely different?

When the person gets kicked.

It's only abusive if hosts are morons.

You don't need this on a Freebuild, you'd only need this on a DM or TDM. If the host is forgeted up enought to enable this in a freebuild it's his problem.

Or as a alternative to be able to be used on any gamemode, the event only works if the brick owner is a admin, super admin or the host. If he isn't either and the event is triggered, the event owner gets banned permanently for "Attempting to abuse events".

JailEventbait for the win.

So it's agreed that it is a good idea, but if admins are abusive it wouldn't turn out as well?
