That's pretty much it.

When I was a little boy I knew a lot of girls my age that had been raped and lived in broken homes. I have a soft spot for rape victims and if I were to adopt I'd prefer a victim of domestic abuse because of this. I want to show the most traumatized that not all people are bad.
