Survivor player is third person. i CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH...
You are absolutely, 100% correct. However, over-the-shoulder is third person as well. Third person view is when the character your are controlling is visible. In over-the-shoulder, the character you are controlling is visible. Over-the-shoulder is a type of third person.
I'm not looking for third person Ive explained it a billion times
The only 'explanation' you gave was the piss-poor description of "on top of the shoulder" (which in my mind, would look a little something like
this, with the camera on top of my shoulder) which
several people found to be not enough information to distinguish it from the exisiting survival player. All you needed to say was "move the camera closer to the player." A semi-intelligent person would have figured this out after the previous descriptions failed multiple times to accomplish the task. An intelligent person would see the potential confusion before making the topic, and clarify what he wants in the OP. You are neither the former, nor the latter. You are an idiot.
You guys are just idiots
Your posts contain very little information, and are basically reposts of things you've already said, which has already been said to not contain enough information. And we are the idiots?
Back to a point I was trying to make in a previous post, which was, of course, completely ignored by you: Take an example of what you want, such as the
Left 4 Dead 2 screenshot. Imagine Nick facing directly forward, as a Blockhead does, but leaving the camera in the same exact place. You're left with what is basically just like survival playertype. You see, half of the requirement for a proper over-the-shoulder playertype is the pose of the character, which would require a remodel of the player to do it well, as well as a remodel of many weapons if you want the hands at the perfect angle. Survival player is pretty much the closest I can imagine without remodeling stuff. Moving the camera really close to the player, like one of my previous screenshots, or Stark's, is a really poor and lazy way of doing it, as it creates a huge blindspot on the right side of your screen.
