Author Topic: AT&T to Impose Data Caps on DSL, U-Verse Customers Starting May 2  (Read 6723 times)

The biggest model packs I see on garrysmod.org are 40-50mb. And I only see one or two of those per page. But lets say all the add-ons you download are 50mb for some reason.

204800 / 50 = 4,096

That's 4,096 per month, which is about 136 per day in a 30 day month.
I doubt you download that many large model packs per day.

Math is a powerful thing...
And besides that's only 4GB.  :cookieMonster:

Nvm you're wrong. 200 * 1 024 = 204 800

well just check the site for how many mods there even are, and even then assume they should all be 50m each.

other sites would just be reposting the same stuff anyways. how many secret mods do you think people make? modders want recognition, and everything would be posted in a massive single location.

In order for him to download that much, his computer would probably need to be running 24/7.

ooo yeah, someone get the DL speed for the 250gb limit plan, and calculate how many hours your computer would have to be downloading at top speed to reach the limit. i'll do it if no one else does i guess.

seriously, he must have like 5 1TB drives or something to hold all his 1337 gmod mods

I have externals, durr.

When you're on a 4 month break you have a lot of time.

Oh well, whatever I say won't stop you guys from making up theories.

I know, late, etc. I'm terrible at everything. Posting this screenshot, not gonna bother posting something else hence I'm an evil mastermind that can fake everything.

i fail to see the proof that you have terrabytes of gmod mods

Predicted this would happen.

I'm not gonna take pictures of every nook and cranny to prove stuff to people on the internet.

Goodbye.

no i mean 4,096 is 4GB. That's what I was referring to.

That picture doesn't show how big the folder is.

Tom

I might have the conversion wrong.

The fastest U-Verse plan is 24 Mbps down. Plug that into a convert and it's 0.000116415321826935 GB/s.
250 / 0.000116415321826935 = 2,147,483.65 seconds
2,147,483.65 / 60 / 60 = 596.523236 hours.
596.523236 / 24
24.85 days.

Yeah that's so outrageous I might have done something wrong.

EDIT: Fixed maths.

divide by the 60's instead of multiply

edit: i got roughly 24.8 days. sounds about right... maybe still a little high, but idk. I did the math right.

Right click on mod folder > properties.
That will show how big the folder is.

Tom

With 24 days it would still be impossible to reach the limit because I highly doubt your download speed stays constantly at 16 Mpbs. Plus, if your doing downloads 24/7 you deserve to pay extra.

24mbps is 3000kb down

2,500,000 a month / 3000 = 833mb a day.

if i did that right lol
it dont sound like much when you are on a dl spree for a weekend. but who the hell downloads that much every day? even heavy torrenting habbits dont reach that.
