Author Topic: Should I play through Bioshock before playing Bioshock 2?  (Read 673 times)

I played the Bioshock demo and I really want the game. Next week I'll be getting 20 bucks and I saw on the Gamestop website that Bioshock 1 and 2 are both for 20 bucks. If I get Bioshock 2 will it leave me clueless on whats going on if I haven't played through Bioshock 1?

Just get two if you want to be a big daddy

How did you end up becoming a Big Daddy in 2?

How did you end up becoming a Big Daddy in 2?
You ARE a big daddy, Its a new story line.

both games are mostly unrelated, the only thing that is related is the multiplayer in 2 having levels from the first game

You ARE a big daddy, Its a new story line.
So the guy from 1 didn't become a big daddy? Its just a new point of view or something?

Yeah. Pretty much completely different as far as characters go.

Bioshock 1 is better IMO.

Tannenbaum is the only recurring character in the 2nd game and she's cut from the game in like the first 3 levels, lol.

If I get Bioshock 2 will it leave me clueless on whats going on if I haven't played through Bioshock 1?

Only really good for back story, you won't be clueless if you get the basic details, you know, underwater ruined city that's infested with drug addicts.
