Author Topic: Making Byond Game: Irish Brew.  (Read 1033 times)

THIS IS COMPLETELY WIP.
So me and my real life friends are coding a game in Byond just to get used to working together and to get some use out of our offices.

The story
The story is about a Irish guy who has about to many q's and gets wasted. His lady friend gets kidnapped, and he goes on a quest to find her.

This will be a game about thinking. There are going to be like little brain forgets every now and then.

Our Equipment
We have 2 med end laptop and 1 low end desktop.
A office, and lots o' time.

Stuff you guys can help me with
I need people to sprite for me! We all have experience in coding and little to no experience in spriting. We just need someone to make a front view, side view, and back view of some average Irish guy.

Man, pretty soon we're going to need a BYOND development megathread lol

I know about four people making Byond games. Can BYOND make singleplayer games?

An average Irish guy would look about the same as any other guy.
I think it'd probably be safer to not apply a nationality to the character at all

yes it can

I didn't get the whole byond idea off of Orthone. I got it from friends who play SS13.

I'm actually gonna make a BYOND game too lol.

Why are so many idiots making byond games? The engine sucks. Game maker is probably better.

You obviously haven't used BYOND at all. The engine doesn't 'suck', it's lightweight and powerful. Also, in my opinion, it's MUCH better than Game Maker, much easier to make a multiplayer game on BYOND.

i consider byond to be 'clunky' and 'heavy.'

then again the only byond game i've ever played was SS13 lol.

Lolol Byond gets another game.

I played some byond game thats like the top rated and it was pure stuff. I never used the engine because I have no interest in 2d games and I would use flash if I was making one anyways.

I could sprite for you, but I'm tired now.
