Author Topic: Artillery?  (Read 3314 times)

A typical war server... Get a tank, a helicopter, a little boat, or just walk around shooting people. Wait, did I miss something? Yes! We need THIS:

Epic, right?
Now, Blockland warfare will be taken to a whole new level!
More details, you might ask?

The shell: Can destroy most big vehicles in one hit, the explosion is a few times bigger than the default rocket explosion. It has a reload animation and it takes about 3-5 seconds to reload. The explosion itself is similar to the frag grenade, it has shrapnel flying in all directions and damages everything around it.

The looks: Make it blocko style!

The location: Found in the vehicle brick, it can NOT move.

Oh, and one last thing:

FIRE!!!

this would be a good idea... but explain to me this,

how would you aim it(you know... side to side and what not) , overall this intrests me greatly i would love to see it work out , the movements of the artillery cannon might confuse me as they should be slow and the reload rate should be about 3000 miliseconds. so yea this looks VERY interesting

we shall see how this works out :).

Hmmm...Aim? Something similar to the mortar in Return to Blockland, it's a weapon that calculates the distance of your mouse and fires a rocket with the right angle and power, only this is a vehicle. If this is not possible, the camera is set up in the sky and you "see" where the shell will hit.

it's just that you would have to guess where your shell will hit unless the camera is set up somewhere in the sky.

Look at the post above yours.

sounds good :3
id like to see this happen
*BUMP*

I actually think this is a very good idea. It would need a long reload time, though, to prevent having a bomb dropping every three seconds from a single artillery.

We have an artillery strike but not the actual artillery.
Kind of interested in this.

And if your target isn't in view...?

I guess that makes sense, especially if there are multiple artilleries

so why not set the delay time to 3000 miliseconds per shot?

then dont shoot?
or if you mean you cant see because the vehical is in the way, then just make the camera view somwhere els?

Every weapon has a range of course, I'm guessing the artillery will have one about the size of the mountain in The Slopes.

3000 milliseconds is 3 seconds.  :cookieMonster:

I mean if there's an obstruction the artillery could fire over to hit the target but blocks the camera.
Using what you said, you wouldn't be to hit said target.

it should take maybe 4 seconds to reload one of those in a hurry. (maybe 5)

According to this video, it takes longer than 4 or 5 seconds to reload a howitzer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwbckwATmeQ
