 I started avoiding elevators after my trip to Ireland. I remember one elevator gave off this horrible screech when climbing up and down.
I stopped using them as much as possible after that.

There's this mall that my mom always goes to when she gets her hair done. They have elevators and escalators for 5 floors. It's pretty small shopping center. My brother and I kept racing to the top and bottom of the shopping center.

There was a horror movie I watched once about an elevator, and an episode on Mythbusters about an elevator. Seeing as how I'm somewhat paranoid, I avoid elevators for I am in constant fear that they'll break. Same with theme park rides.

Hah, reminds me when I took a vacation with my cousin.

We would play "Elevator Hide and Seek." I had to count and they hid on one of the floors. I would have to find them on each floor. Boy, it was fun until we got in trouble by the staff.

Haha. Once my brother would wait until we got to a floor, then instantly close the door before the person got in. He got in trouble though.
