Author Topic: 1000+ Hour Players w/o many items in TF2?  (Read 2185 times)

Is something wrong here?
I'm planning to make lots of $$$ during the summer and register a Steam Account, buy TF2 and every weapon from Mann Co + packs w/ vintage random weapons, and one unusual demo hat.

But, after a two hour search on 1000+ hour players, I'm incredibly confused at how little they have/their items.
Maybe I'm just used to playing a certain other shooting game where adults blow $200 on fancy stuff every month.

Actually, yes, there is something wrong.

There is a promotion right now where you buy a pack of indie games, named 'The Potato Sack'. As Valve always does, they're giving away a hat if you buy the complete pack. But, the hat fiasco is causing bugs and now many people are without many hats, weapons, and badges.

Hopefully, this blows over. I'm missing 2 of my hats and 6 of my weapons.

Oh wow, no wonder!

I don't buy virtual stuff for games. Usually.

Hopefully the best April Fools joke ever.
It's like Valve to be a week late with almost anything though.

Me either.
@ your first response
Some people's items seem rather intact and unchanged, this is odd

The only things I ever bought from the tf2 cash shop were the crocodile hate, name changer, and description changer.

I'm one of those losers who's "willing to pay $200 silver plating for a $0.99 AK47", which I have...

It doesn't seem like a coincidence, @ Coma.
It seems like one user has lots of non-vintage unique hats and then two vintage, and he treasures the vintage by adding names and equipping them

I'm really interested in this topic, so bump.

According to Steam, i've played for 381 hours, i find several weapons, but only on rare occasions do i find a hat, i sometimes find a paint can, every now and then i may find a crate or a description/name tag

I've only bought one hat from the Mann Co. Store which was the Mining Light because i had some money left over at the time, i only buy keys otherwise, because i'm too curious to trade away a crate, unless it's a crate full of paint

I've played for 151 hours and only one hat was ever found.

Ugh, I wish hats were never added to TF2. It's added so much douchebaggery.

The only thing i see is people asking to trade/buy/sell things, what's bothering you?

Hmmm! I guess I shouldn't worry about looking like a newbie starting TF2 (on PC) late.
