Author Topic: Resuggest: Wire Bricks  (Read 1503 times)

Squideey suggested this a while back and nobody really made it. I kinda think it would be useful since wires made of bricks arent that great. I was thinking that it could have two bricks then a wire would be connected by those two bricks. Or maybe an emmiter or just a brick itself that looks like a wire.

It was made when he suggested it. The only problem is that it was made by Truce.

lol

Sounds totally useless to me. You could make wires using bricks and relays. Or better yet, take advantage of the fact we don't need them.

If its just decoration purposes, go make a print and make it look authentic.

This is easy to make
Easy to model
Hard to script.

So i might learn2cylinder

Yeah. Clan Managers are useless as well. We don't need them. We have notepad to record everything. In fact, we don't even need notepad because we have paper and pencil.
Gallery of UGLY wire bricks.

It's a good Idea, but yet again, you can make custom emitters.

That is un-necessary. I happen to know that some people do use that tool practically, even beyond clan management. Although its not for everyone, granted.

In this case, there is no practical application whatsoever to adding wires.  I think my suggestion was a very reasonable one.

I happen to know people who could use wires (wire-looking bricks, not relays durr hurr) pratically, and wires are not for everyone [you].
And Clan Managers are useless, I could use a pencil and paper or Note/Wordpad and have an equaly effective manager.

Perhaps, but I've never seen a build that looks worse off because it didn't have an emitter coming out of it. I don't believe I'm alone in saying that.

I'm not going to get into a debate with you about why notepad is less functional and less convenient than using the CM in AfterBlock because thats irrelevant to this topic, but I think any right minded person can agree a comparison to a completely unrelated creation is nothing short of spiteful, and regardless of whether you find practical use for a clan manager or not, that doesn't make a hypothetical wire mod any more useful.

Projectile with long life/long trail.
Aim at brick
Use onProjectileDestroyed to spawn a new one.

Comments make up the Blockland community. Notice that when Squideey posted this everybody supported. Now me a non-respected member posts the same thing basicly nobody supports. It's pretty funny.

I could model this.
I'm pretty sure anyone could.

I'm no scripting genius but I'm pretty sure someone can make an event like
onActivate > Named Brick [Wire] > SpawnWire [Gravity Pull]
So when it's activated it creates a wire between the two bricks and you can specify the gravity pull.

colors are useless. they're only decorative. get rid of the painting feature.
