Author Topic: [IDEA] Bricks That Work Like "Area Portals"  (Read 401 times)

The idea behind this is to control the visibility of objects and bricks. The way it would work is that by these bricks the build or the area could be divided into visibility blocks where each adjoining or directly visible would be rendered, but not the ones that are further away from the block you are looking at (distance would be controlled by the draw distance setting), or the ones that you are not looking at at all.

The main benefit of this is that you could have more control over the visibility of bricks and objects, while also reducing the stress.

The question is: is this possible at all?

It could be very glitchy as some bricks would not re-render/ render later correctly.  This is only if I am understanding your request fully.  It would be nice, so a build with 50,000 bricks could be LAG free for someones computer.  Screenshots could also look bad, IMO.

50000 bricks hardly has any lag for me already though.

It was a hypothetical point.  I am lag free at 128k.

That's a terrible deathtrap for me.
