I actually have a really disgusting story to go with that.

I used to have snake bites, and they were gauged down to a 12 gauge. Anywho, one day when I slept over at my ex-girlfriends house, I took out the lip rings to disinfect while I showered and then ate breakfast. Anyway, at breakfast, her dad made me laugh super hard, welp, I had coffee in my mouth, so instead of swallowing, my mouth like filled with air, and coffee started to shoot through my lip piercing hole.

But its watertight when the studs/rings are in.
