Author Topic: Choice between laptops.  (Read 2297 times)

Why do you want a laptop? You could get a desktop just as good for much cheaper

Lol I love it when people don't understand the obvious, practical reasons that make the laptop industry so big.

If you're going to spend 3000 for it you might as well get a PowerBook. Mac Laptops are so much better and probably won't fall apart in a year.

If its for travel between parents he could make a really nice LANbox

What games do you plan to play?

Older or newer?
Newer, definitely. Think Portal 2, TF2, GMod, Black Ops, Fallout NV, Oblivion, etc.

Leave this topic now.

No computer can last a solid 5 years, technology doesn't work that way
Well that's why I don't buy 6-core laptops for thousands of dollars.

Apparently he does, and doesn't give a stuff about the cost.

What? I'm assuming this will last me a while. :u

If somebody has money, why would you care what they spend it on?

It's called BootCamp. You can literally do anything you can do on Windows on Mac now.

Well how long is a while?  It wont be top of the line in 2 years.

Actual hardware's power plays a significant role in gaming.

If its for travel between parents he could make a really nice LANbox

But that is extra effort for something that is less convenient than a laptop.  :cookieMonster:

Bullstuff.
If I could last three years on an Intel Core Duo, 1GB ram and a 128mb Intel graphics card MacBook, anyone can easily uphold a computer for 5 years with such hardware discussed here.

It's called BootCamp. You can literally do anything you can do on Windows on Mac now.
How would you like it.
If I take your throat.
And eat it.
Raw.

It's called BootCamp. You can literally do anything you can do on Windows on Mac now.

I dunno about that.
Bootcamp may be better now, but I've been using the version of Bootcamp that came with my 2007 MacBook and I always found my Mac overheated badly under Windows.

1. Apple hasn't made PowerBooks since 2006
2. Please tell me you're joking.

Show me a similar spec mac to that laptop for the price and then we can talk about the os

Lololololoololol
I totally oversaw that.

Anyway if you are gonna spend so much money getting a nice computer, there is no point buying one just to have to run a barely supported OS on it which isn't designed to run on the computer, and have an additional OS you didn't really want on it. Just go for a gaming PC and don't fluff around.
