Yes, never buy a Mac with the pure intention of running Windows. It makes no sense.
Some kid at school has Windows 7 running perfect on his Macbook.

GOD you just don't get it do you.

If you want to run Windows you buy a PC, regardless if a Mac can do the same its designed specifically for MacOS and will not be as steady as a PC is. You buy a Mac for the Mac experience, that is the only acceptable reason to opt for a Mac and a crater hole in your wallet.

Ew, guys, actually forget that laptop I just posted. It's loving two and a half inches thick asfasiofianf.

This.

Oh, ew, Bootcamp? That software is total stuff. It's laggy - not to mention you can't share files with your Mac like you could do in Parallels or anything similar.
Stop making stuff up. I doubt you've used BootCamp for 5 minutes - it's not laggy at all, and I know that because I've had BootCamp for awhile now.

Okay guys, I might also consider this because the site has better reviews than ibuypower (from what I've seen anyway):
http://www.avadirect.com/gaming-notebook-configurator.asp?PRID=18340
The only thing is there's nothing on the page that says how long it'll run on battery.
Link won't load for me.

Something to remember is you're going to probably have to chose between a high powered gaming laptop or a laptop that can be more portable. You're probably not going to find both in the same package.

I used Bootcamp for a month because I didn't have a PC at that time and my dad had bought a new iMac. Laggy as forget. (also I wasn't told that the Windows copy had already been registered on my step-dad's computer so I only had thirty days) I've used Macs for a while. I'm not a moron who just spews insults without having used a Mac. They're good computers but they loving pale in comparison with a PC.

I never said I need to have it 'portable' in the sense you're implying - by portable I just meant transporting it between houses, and to friends' houses when I go to them.

Then does it really matter if it's two inches thick?

Two inches is a bit big, even for a laptop I won't be moving a huge amount.
The only thing I'm wary about is that I've seen mixed reviews of iBUYPOWER - both good and bad ones.

Are you still looking at the Battalion X7200? If you are, it is extremely thick, and the power block is a whole other story.

Heh, the power block's no problem. I have one bigger than that right now.
And yeah, I'm considering that and the Alienware M17x. However, people are saying I should get the Battalion so I'm leaning towards that.

The batallion is much better and since you only need it to be portable enough to take between houses it doesn't seem like a huge problem

Now I just need to save up. olololo
My brother's gonna buy this laptop for ~700 dollars, so that leaves me with 1500 dollars needed.
My dad will probably loan me a good amount.

Thats weird...

For some reason I kinda like the look of the big fat block computer. Its thickness is kinda cool... even though its generally considered ugly and impractical. :u

Which, the Avadirect or the Battalion?
