I don't know if you mean that in a good way or a bad way, anyways, I'll sum up my experience with it:

>Download, install
>Start character, reach rescue camp
>Game glitches because of update and all my gear disappears.
>Start a new character
>"This game is kind of stuff, hope it gets better soon."
>Find out there's only two weapon types, and all you do is spam right-click the entire game
>Begin to resent my teammates and spend the entire time trying to get to the loot before they do
>Spend 30 minutes in a gauntlet right-click spamming the forget out of a million mobs
>"loving stuff, maybe if I play this thing longer I'll get to the part where it stops sucking."
>Run out of energy
>Uninstall

Maybe it's so basement dwellers don't spend all their time on the computer playing games.
Energy limits people's activity, and forces them to pay more if they want to play excessively.

It's like a optional subscription.

You missed the point of that though:

IE: I couldn't get to the part where the game is supposedly good because it preemptively gave me the boot.

i mean it in the way where you always find something hilariously negative to say. anyway, the random parties you join up with usually do suck balls because they are greedy bastards. what's fun to do is get people off the bl forums and have steam voice chat. we divide up loot so that one person isn't getting everything. also, if one person is a richard they will have a little bit of hell to pay.

If you run though teir one, you get around 3.5k crowns, then you can buy 100 energy.

it takes 60 energy to run though the first teir, you get 30 energy each time you run though.

aka, energys not a factor
