dun dun dun

is this supposed to be bad

Not necessarily. This allows the publishers to give their own opinion on what age-group it's supposed for, instead of 'caring mothers and fathers'.

Well esrb always needs more money, right?

What will Minecraft be Rated?

BA

for BADASS.

Minecraft has no blood and gore or alcohol or gangs with guns so it won't be rated 18+ that's for sure

Minecraft - AO

Adults Only.

Online Interactions Not Rated By The ESRB

minecraft would probably be either e or e10+

Minecraft has no blood and gore or alcohol or gangs with guns so it won't be rated 18+ that's for sure

but you can make snakees with blocks

I could rate it E, or E 10. It's no big thing, and when you kill monsters, they turn into happy fairy poof, so it would likely be rated that.

Personally I never liked the rating system
It should really not be E T M, ETC, it should be Blood gore, violence, ETC.
I know it says that on the back but I think the ratings should just be dumped.

I don't think I've seen a game rated A/AO/Whatever the forget you call it except for some Playboy game at the local Blockbuster a long time ago.

Basically the ESRB rating system will now be applied to indie games, probably including Minecraft, but as usual the games will be required to display "Online Interaction Not Rated by ESRB".  Meaning that when someone says "snake" in a Minecraft server, its because it is online interaction, it's not like Minecraft is coded to show snakees in text chat or something.
