do you believe in god

yes
no

Author Topic: why do you believe in god?  (Read 19584 times)

I don't believe in god because i can't see it as a possibility. I'm curious why theists believe in god.

Sup. The poll really needs a third option.
The only logical answer to the poll is 'there's no way to tell'.
How can you prove that he's real - but then again how can you prove that he's not?
Agnosticism is the only way to go for now, really - until we have evidence of either side being correct.

I'm starting to understand why god didn't want Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of Knowledge.  :cookieMonster:
The tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve already had knowledge but the problem was, once they ate from the tree it caused them to know the knowledge of the bad therefore sin entered the world.

The poll isn't for agnostics as I already understand them

um yeah
the bible never says that it's the tree of knowledge
just says it's a fruit thats forbidden
I just read the part where they ate from the tree, it was called the tree of knowledge D:
The tree of knowledge of good and evil.
this to be exact

The 1 day is 1,000 years is a figure of speech. The Bible says that a day is morning and night. (24 hours) God spent more time making earth because it was His special planet. :D
Religion-brainwashed child right here.

Religion-brainwashed child right here.
Because I stand up for what I know is true Im brainwashed. :D

How do you know it's true?

People believe in God due to the lack of time to do a good philosophy to understand reasons for life. But that is very mind intensive, hard and can cause major headaches. Religion is basically generalised, simplified life philosphy, wich has been abused by churches to obtain money, and maintain power over society.
Especially in the middle-ages, when they said "Do this or you go to hell". And so they had complete control over everything. They executed philosophists that shared their ideas because that would undermine their power. We have grown over this, and I think it is about time we drop churches as churches, and use social meeting spots to discuss religion, the philosophy version. So we really need to get over the part of "Do x or you go to hell", but basic religion is good.

Addition-edit:
The bible is pure imaginated stories bundled together, with the tag "Religion" on it so everyone that is religious buys it. Seeing most people don't like to urposefully think about the meanings of life, alot choose the already-present, packaged and easy-to-install religion. Therefore the book is sold like, a billion times?
Tl;Dr:
Religion is simplified philosophy.

You are very dumb for thinking your opinion about something is the actual truth.
Hell, we might evin be situated in an atom core that is rediculously oversized, and wich is like, an element on a superscaled other universe.

There has to be something important and true about that book, or else it wouldnt have lasted as long as it has.

Read my post 2 up:

Eski moment here.

I'll name you some flaws with 'creation'.

First off it took 6 days to create the heaven, and the Earth.

In the bible it mentions that a day for a god is a thousand years.
So 6,000 years were taken to forge the universe and the Earth.

It took only took 1,000 years for the universe to be completed.
And 5,000 years for the Earth to be accomplished.

Now with the combination of so many planets, stars, galaxies, and solar systems the attention to detail greatly outnumbers the attention detail to Earth.

This also brings up the timeline of the biblical theory of how long we existed. It said it was around 12,000 years from the beginning.

That means god spent half of that time creating everything and we already existed in the midst of it.

No, it means that God isn't affected by time, HURRRRR

It's a old book wrote by people who thought the earth was flat.

forget you're stupid.

The Bible says the earth is round.
Your argument is invalid.
