Author Topic: why do you believe in god?  (Read 19587 times)

Humans think they are the best stuff on this planet, while they are actually managing to destroy it without caring. Anyhow, I especially hate it when a person puts his/her life on the line to save someone, then that someone is safe and the first thign he/she says is THANK YOU GOD.
I don't see no god putting his/her life at stake.

I find this thread to be interesting c:

I am still doubting if the OP is a troll or just a brainwashed person.

ask yourself: How did anything without God just 'happen'?
You just denied my question.
I said, ask yourself: HOW DID GOD HAPPEN?
Then we can answer your meaningless thought-loop question.

God has no beginning or end. God was always there. Always will be.

"YOUR PUNY MIND ISN'T CAPABLE OF UNDERSTANDING GOD'S GREATNESS, JUST BOW BEFORE HIM AND PROSTRATE YOURSELVES EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T KNOW WHY."

Its so god damned handicapped that I want to punch a Christian in the face.
You should see a professional about that.

I say anything like that once?
Did I even say that I was a Christian?

Most of the time I say that because it's hard-wired into my brain :I

When I actually mean fortuna, lolol.
When Jesus died on the cross for us.
How do you manage to breathe on your own?

When Jesus died on the cross for us.
Ah, yes, thanks for bringing up the subject of trinity.
Explain that. Right now. How can the father, the son and the holy spirit be the same being? It doesn't make any sense.

The whole Christian idea is basically:
If you are a christian, you believe that:
-a magical wizard who has been living forever created the entire universe just by saying so, all in just one week
-Humans were created by that same magical wizard who has been living forever, because the wizard said some magical words, and a man was created. Then the magical wizard created a rib-woman out of the man, and the rib-woman then did something bad that an evil snake told her to do. Fast forward a couple thousand years later, and we have the magical wizard's motherless son born into earth from a virgin human girl. The wizard's son was so magical on earth that he gathered a lot of followers, and the authorities didn't like him, so they put him on a cross and killed his body. But a couple days later he magically rose up from beyond the grave and then came back for a little bit to show people even more that he was the wizard's son, and to listen to the stuff that the magical wizard no one had ever seen said, and to love him with your life.

Yeah, that sounds TOTALLY legitimate.

When Jesus died on the cross for us.
He died because he was an unlikeable idiot everyone wanted dead but some other idiots.

You should see a professional about that.

That is essentially what you said.  You said exactly what the Bible and clergy reiterate constantly, you can't understand God's greatness and love for us, but believe in him anyway.

How can God just 'happen'?

Just think, for us to be here, something else had to exist before us to create us, but what would exist before that item to create it?

Christianity believes that God is that entity that was created from nothing yet created everything, and was the beginning of that cycle of creation. Nothing was before him because He always was. Yes it is somewhat illogical and without hard evidence, but you have to understand that although the human mind has a near infinite intellectual capacity, we can't assume we can fully understand and explain everything, especially information on an entity that is higher than us.

Our wizard likes to forget with our minds.

Uh, no.
My point was, there will without a doubt be things that all of us think are solid facts right at this minute, which maybe in the future we will find out aren't true at all.

Nope. That's dumb.  A fact is something that is true, a theory is something that has sway of, or that we aren't sure about.
