jesus was not quoting anything. there are several long drawn passages detailing the exact words of jesus begging for his life.

god damn, dont you christians even read your own stuff? no wonder its so easy to believe in a god. you don't even study your own.

No, he's talking about Jesus in the olive garden of Gethsemane.  He begged God for another way for him to be savior.
Luke 22:42 "Father, if you are willing,please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine." yea it was in the garden

I lol'd at this thread now.

I'm pretty sure Jesus' sacrifice would have not been whole if he just negated all of his physical nerves to feel no pain, or if He did not feel what it was like to slowly die and suffer. That is probably why he begged God to not let Him die.

I am a Christian, my dad is a pastor. And I have seen, first hand, unexplainable miracles. Such as my moms healing of epilepsy. One of my friends was healed of asthma, and near sightedness. I also personally think there is plenty of proof of the Bible, and evidence against atheism.

Awesome. And this is one of my favorite passages.

1 Peter 4:12-19 "Dear friends, dont be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.So be happy when you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. If you suffer however it must not be for murder,stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people's affair. But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name! For the time has come for judgement, and it must begin with God's household. And if judgement begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God's Good News?
And also, "If the righteous are barely saved, what will happen to the godless sinners?" So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you."

psalm 22
Quote
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
   Why are you so far from saving me,
   so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
   by night, but I find no rest.

 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
   you are the one Israel praises.[c]
4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
   they trusted and you delivered them.
5 To you they cried out and were saved;
   in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

 6 But I am a worm and not a man,
   scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
7 All who see me mock me;
   they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
8 “He trusts in the LORD,” they say,
   “let the LORD rescue him.
Let him deliver him,
   since he delights in him.”

 9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;
   you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth I was cast on you;
   from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

 11 Do not be far from me,
   for trouble is near
   and there is no one to help.

 12 Many bulls surround me;
   strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.
13 Roaring lions that tear their prey
   open their mouths wide against me.
14 I am poured out like water,
   and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart has turned to wax;
   it has melted within me.
15 My mouth[d] is dried up like a potsherd,
   and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth;
   you lay me in the dust of death.

 16 Dogs surround me,
   a pack of villains encircles me;
   they pierce[e] my hands and my feet.
17 All my bones are on display;
   people stare and gloat over me.
18 They divide my clothes among them
   and cast lots for my garment.

 19 But you, LORD, do not be far from me.
   You are my strength; come quickly to help me.
20 Deliver me from the sword,
   my precious life from the power of the dogs.
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;
   save me from the horns of the wild oxen.

 22 I will declare your name to my people;
   in the assembly I will praise you.
23 You who fear the LORD, praise him!
   All you descendants of Jacob, honor him!
   Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not despised or scorned
   the suffering of the afflicted one;
he has not hidden his face from him
   but has listened to his cry for help.

 25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;
   before those who fear you[f] I will fulfill my vows.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;
   those who seek the LORD will praise him—
   may your hearts live forever!

 27 All the ends of the earth
   will remember and turn to the LORD,
and all the families of the nations
   will bow down before him,
28 for dominion belongs to the LORD
   and he rules over the nations.

 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
   all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
   those who cannot keep themselves alive.
30 Posterity will serve him;
   future generations will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness,
   declaring to a people yet unborn:
   He has done it!
why is it bolded?

Death of Jesus

Quote
45 From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. 46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli,[c] lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).[d]
 47 When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”

 48 Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49 The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”

 50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

 51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split 52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[e] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

 54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

 55 Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. 56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph,[f] and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

the forget you talkin about bisjac

He never begged God to not let him die. He said, if there is any other way, take this cup from my hands, but your will be done. He was afraid because he was about to die the worst death in history, but he never begged God not to do it. And when he said, My God, why have you forsaken me? He literally meant that. God can't look at sin, and when Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for all sins, as the Jews sacrificed a clean perfect animal when they sinned, Jesus took the weight of all sin. So God couldn't look at him.

Jesus died on a Cross. Crosses were used to kill criminals.

So if Jesus Died in an Electrical Chair would the Christian Symbol be an Electric Chair?

wow jesus said a series of 9 words out of like 2000. its proof!
god why have you forsaken me? it sounds like something common people were shouting in the time when they suffer.

lol god your funny.

quote me more. that will prove something.
especially since psalms comes long ass time BEFORE jesus dies.

Jesus never existed. Christianity is based on cosmology.

yes you do :D

a christian isnt supposed to take anything from the old testament anyways. thats the jewish stuff you are supposed to be ignoring. your religion starts much later in time.
you dont even know how to follow your own creed. god.

yes :cookieMonster:

lol you guys can't cite the Bible as evidence to support the Bible.

It's called circular logic and anyone with half a brain should notice.
