Author Topic: Is Raw Cookie dough good for you? (Stupid obvious question for boredom)  (Read 1620 times)

I heard it could give you worms and stuff from eating a whole batch.

No, it's actually very healthy and good to eat when you're on a diet. It's best to eat it while sitting still reading a forum.

(Proceeds to eat it while scrolling the forums and putting on my imaginary list of VERY HEALTHY diets)

This is probably the dumbest thing I've read all day.
Of course you can't get worms, or at least the risk of worms is the same with any other food.
The bigger risk is salmonella.

It only gives you worms if you eat cookie dough with worms in it. Why the forget are you eating worm infested cookie dough?

Yes, from any raw eggs. Cookie dough that you can safely eat doesn't contain raw unpasteurized eggs.

I knew the worm myth was fake all along. I'm not eating worm-infested cookie dough, because if I did I'd be probably hospitalized by now or hacking up a lung or something.

Oh, it's an old wives tale, then?

No, raw eggs can be contaminated with salmonella.

The chance of getting salmonella from raw eggs is pretty rare. I eat cookie dough all the time. Probobly why I am so fat.

I haven't eaten cookie dough, my mom never made cookies ;-;

Wait, but the topic title says "Raw" cookie dough. Wouldn't that be cookie dough with raw eggs in it? You'll have to forgive my lack of culinary prowess.

Raw cookie dough is uncooked cookie dough. It does not necessarily mean that the eggs in the dough are raw.
