Because a security breach makes a completely different service take over a first party service!

Aren't passwords supposed to be hashed?
How the forget can anyone get access to them...?

Yeah. I thought sony encrypted them.
And yet nobody mentioned identity theft. People can live with cash. But having your identity stolen means you will have huge problems getting a new house because the bitches made them lose their old house.

AFAIK  Sony stored the info as plaintext.

My card expired in January anyways so this doesn't bother me.

people saying "psn users gonna be homeless" (and other assorted stuff) are incredibly stupid. big loving deal if your credit card info got stolen, take 5 minutes to call your provider and cancel it. then get a new card in the mail in a week. holy stuff it's not that hard.

its not like your social security number was stolen or something. credit card being stolen =/= identity theft.

in other words, unless you're really dumb, all that you will lose from this is a few days of ps3 online play. and no, i am not a ps3 fanboy. i have a 360, but do most of my gaming on my pc.

Man my debit card has 5,000 dollars on it.

What the stuff does stealing from innocents have to do with not having a linux OS on the ps3? Anon has forgeted up priorities. Maybe 30 years in jail will straighten them out.
Buy a haircut, you sheepdog.

They are legion.

+1 argument point for Xbox fanboys

-1 Respect

no, but you can use "PSN insecurely stored information" since I doubt the hacker cracked encryption seeing as there apparently wasn't any in place

This is Anon.

They can hack almost anything

oh please. all these people that are like "lol they can hak whatver they want!!" are pretty stupid. If anything was hackable that easy, online banking wouldn't exist. online ANYTHING wouldn't exist, except relatively pointless forums like this, etc.

this wasn't necessarily directed at Menen, hopefully he's smart enough that he was just joking

anon = group of friends

nothing more
