Author Topic: Thoughts About Fable III For PC/Steam  (Read 1265 times)

Pretty much one sentence can sum this up...

forget you Lionhead Studios!

I have no issue with the game itself if anything it looks pretty dam cool. Ohhh no. It's the fact this game is a few months old and ONLY NOW we're getting a port for it. No but even then that's not it.

It's an old game yet it quietly tries to hide itself as a new game with a big whopping price of 50 dollars.

Exciting PC features: Built from the ground up for the PC gamer. Experience the "hardcore mode" option for greater difficulty, enjoy additional in-game content, and even play Fable 3 in stunning 3D, thanks to NVIDIA technology!

Oh boy! A gamemode I'll probably never play like in Fallout: New Vegas with a 3D feature that nobody can loving use because who actually has a 3D monitor? Not to mention it'll probably cripple the draw distance or other graphical settings like from what I heard on Killzone 3.

Also the Publisher is Microsoft Game Studios which is pretty god dam ironic because don't they have Games For Windows Live or something as their "Steam". I also have a really bad feeling that this port is going to go out of its way to piss off PC gamers as Crysis 2 did.

forget Fable 3. The reason I didn't get it when it came out was because there was a PC version of it. Ironically now I'm NOT going to get it because THERE IS a PC version.

What's your opinion on this? :/

EDIT: ITT - Me being butthurt that consoles impair my ability to play games like Halo: Reach.

If there wasn't console only games, there wouldn't be a reason to get a console.

You don't have to have a 3D monitor to play 3D games lol.
Example: Minecraft.

Terrible game. I bought the collectors edition for Xbox and was very disappointed.

Exactly so I wouldn't have to waste my money. I could waste my money dedicated to my PC instead.

I think he means like those silly HOLY stuff IT'S LIKE I'M REALLY BEING TENTACLE RAPED kind of games
where the tentacles look like they're flying out of the screen

I'm talking about 3D Vision, hurp durp. It doesn't work with glasses, you need a special monitor.

The only reason I would buy this is to listen to the music Russel Shaw helped compose.

Lionhead needs to stop richarding around with Fable already.

Fable II was disappointing and III just looks downright stupid.  Fable The Lost Chapters was the only GOOD Fable game (which by the way was only on PC or Xbox).

They need to go back with what made them such a god damn success.  But no, EA probably is too stupid to allow them to put more effort into that.

I don't understand what you are trying to prove?
  • The game was short and uneventful.
  • The combat was stupidly easy, requiring little to no strategy.
  • The "evolve your weapon with you" feature wasn't what it was hyped up to be.
  • The story progression seemed rushed.
  • The second half where you get to run your own kingdom was just a series of decisions you had to make before the final boss. Once you beat the boss you couldn't do anything with your kingdom from what I saw. No righting the wrongs or vice versa.

I paid 80 dollars for all of 10 hours of game play that wasn't really all that fun. Most of the game I was waiting for something interesting to happen to make it worthwhile, but it never did. This is all just my opinion, of course.

I bloody loved follow-the-glowing-line-and-mash-a-button III, what the hell are you guys complaining about?!

Ha, I guess I missed that. :)

Fable 3 was the first fable game, And I was dissapointed at how easy it was.
