Define local.
Definitions of local on the Web:

relating to or applicable to or concerned with the administration of a city or town or district rather than a larger area; "local taxes"; "local authorities"
public transport consisting of a bus or train that stops at all stations or stops; "the local seemed to take forever to get to New York"
of or belonging to or characteristic of a particular locality or neighborhood; "local customs"; "local schools"; "the local citizens"; "a local point of view"; "local outbreaks of flu"; "a local bus line"
local anesthetic: anesthetic that numbs a particular area of the body

It's funny since no one ever said this stuff had to be more important than people dying. Seriously, why are you even comparing the two?

Yes I understand that but I dont see how thats an answer. Are you trying to say they arent making money off the wedding?

I think hes trying to state how ridiculously easy it is to make money off the masses because of sentiment.

It shouldn't even be important globally at all.

Hell, the tradition doesn't even have a real positive reason to exist except to meet the vicarious emotional needs of emotionally bonded people like you.

In this case, no. I'm watching channels run by huge companies.

Yes I understand that but I dont see how thats an answer. Are you trying to say they arent making money off the wedding?

Well of course they need to make money off the wedding. If they didn't make any money off this then england would go bankrupt because of how ridiculous this is. That and it's too easy for this event to be corrupted into selling tons of stuff for money.

So basically Dodger you like to live a robot?

You enjoy living without happiness because you like to pretend that it clouds judgement or "progress".  That's pretty much what you're saying.

Problem sir? Also, emotion does cloud judgement. Do you know that term in civil protection services, "Emotionally compromised"?

So you have to be a robot to not get all lovey dovey about two figureheads smooching :U?

Problem sir? Also, it doesn't pretend to cloud judgement, it does.

Holy stuff.

It never ends.  It's a never ending parade of puffed up egoism and ignorance.

stuff, if ignorance is bliss you're probably stoned out of your mind right now.

Enjoy continuing to be forever alone when you realize that you can't function normally as a human without emotions.

Oh wait, is the whole "pretend-play smart" thing due to how unsocial you are?  Is that why you want to believe that emotions don't matter?

Nickel is being ridiculous.

Hell, the tradition doesn't even have a real positive reason to exist except to meet the vicarious emotional needs of emotionally bonded people like you.
Oh, excuse me for being interested in traditions of a country nearly 25 minutes away from me by plane! It does actually have a positive side to it. It brings people together on the streets, having a good time, watching history in the making.
And when did I ever say I was emotional about this event? Yes, that's right, never. I just wanted to watch this for the experience and because it interests me.
The way you see this event could be compared to how I see your religion. It's not important to me either, yet you think it is. Opinions, they actually do exist for your information.

Bismarck pretended to be a Romantic of the people when he absolutely had to.

I can pretend to have emotions, and hell, I do even get some real emotions, but true public expression of them is a stopping force for success.

Also, ignorance in an event such as this is less damaging than ignorance in actual global issues.

-snip-

This has no real historical significance, the thing about bringing people together goes under emotional needs, interest in things such as this are unproductive, and you have a weak Jewish faith.

Wait! This wedding is going to be history in the making? Oh boy that changes everything!

Technically yeah, it would change everything :U

But it barely affects some lines in a old book nobody's going to read.

That and maybe a few parades.

I guess the world should stop being happy after accomplishing ambitions or goals.

So nobody will be happy when their progress is made in their eyes.

So then they have nothing to look forward to.  So then, considering they'd have nothing to look forward to the success of their goals, they don't see the point in their goals and thus don't make success.

Also, you're obviously not devoid of emotion considering how in any other thread you act completely happy and normal and then all of a sudden here you immediately turn into this pretty upset "intelligent" idiot.

Not to mention how much you like Ningyou.
