The only viable thing for me would be if, sometime over the summer, NE people would want to meet up at grand central station or penn station in NYC and go and chill around the city.  Everyone loves nyc, so.

Also I will be able to drive this summer.

I say we have everyone list where they live, and then determine a place to have the convention based on who lives where. Going by state first, then narrowing things down. Yes, that makes transportation inconvenient for those who don't live close, but at least we're getting the majority.

I live on Long Island, and would be willing to travel to NY and NJ by train.  But obviously it would be difficult. :/
