Author Topic: Public events/Bricks with no owner  (Read 1018 times)

A brick that has no owner so any player can break, paint or event them. Also works with other peoples events. Say I have a public brick that turns green when it receives a relay. Any player is able to fire a relay to that brick either remotely if the brick has a name or by building a brick next to the public one and using directional relays.

So wait. Your suggesting that everyone can delete or screw around with a certain type of brick? OK i support this.  :cookieMonster:

Aren't you able to make it so the bricks lose ownership after a specified amount of time?

It becomes your brick.

Perhaps an event that makes the brick public.

Someone will just destroy them and then what's the point.

Global trust would allow this.

They shouldn't be able to break them.

An RTB pref to control what people can do to them.

Seems a lot of work for... what? Being able to control what everyone can do to a heap of bricks? They can just build their own bricks. I don't really see the motivation.

Gives more control over bricks for server hosts, I think it'd be a neat idea.

The host doesn't really have to worry about that if they're his bricks.

There is already a (old) mod that does this.
I can post it here later, but someone will need to remind me to.

However this affects all bricks on the server.

I see your small mind can't see the big picture without first being told.

However this affects all bricks on the server.
Then it's useless. In my opinion the event approach to this is the best. Also if the event would also erase itself after use..
