Doesn't mean they aren't either, they actually get good jobs.

You know that guy who fixed your computer?  Nerd.

You know that guy who your dad works for?  Nerd.

You know that guy who you're replying to?  Nerd.

Besides, who are you going to hire to fix your computer?  A high school drop out or a nerdy looking guy that finished college?

What distro should I get? Something simple.
Ubuntu or MoonOS.  Same thing, just one with Docky out of the box.

How well does wine run things?

How well does wine run things?
Things with OpenGL, faster.
Things with DirectX, slower.

I run WoW faster but CS:S slower.  So it's a double edged sword.  The slowdown isn't bad though.

Burn the ISO to a disc and use your BIOS boot menu to boot off of it.

Also Fedora and Mandriva are badass. openSUSE and others are meh.
I'm just going to put this out.

I don't take favorites in 1 linux distro.  It's not just accurate.  Ubuntu and variants are based toward a different audience than Fedora and Mandrivia.

Well your friend is a nerd.

Well I decided to double boot ubuntu again everything seems pretty nice, my only problem is I can't find my files from windows.
(Like "My music" ETC)

Help?

What is a distro that doesn't require internet to do a lot of things, easy to use, and no Ubuntu variants.

is it faster then ubuntu?

Do I want to back up my stuff?  Or can I multi boot it with XP?

Ubuntu has a reliable option to automatically multi-boot itself during setup - you should back up just in case something screws up, even though it's unlikely. I'm not 100% sure if MoonOS has this, but since it is Ubuntu based it probably does.

If not, head to Google and look up tutorials for dual booting Linux. There's tons of them and it's not that hard if you know what you're doing.

Internet is almost obligatory for ANY operating system made in the past decade.
Ubuntu is as easy as it gets, but I would recommend Fedora or something.

It is Ubuntu, just with a dock and different theme.
