I dont understand what would be so bad in believing in God. You have nothing to lose. He's real you go to heaven. He's not then you just become dead. Lol
It's a waste of time. It's a waste of energy. It has its way of dumbing down the populace and there is no logical reason for it.

Tell me something, can any animal ever create anything more then a home, and reproduction?
Are you like 12?

I dont see how the time period has to deal with it

but I was mistaken on what you said
my bad
Time period is relevant because I don't think there would be many leading scientists that would hold themselves back with religion. The role of religion has changed.

Nothing is wrong with it. It starts becoming a problem when it interferes with the well-being of the masses. Someone is going to ask me to back that up, so just look at the long saga of the pope discouraging the use of condoms that would otherwise have saved many lives from HIV.

1. It's not your time to waste

2. It's not your energy that's being wasted

3. It's not dumbing down the populace because not everyone has to believe the same thing. Unless you are talking about the Catholic church then it shouldn't be a problem.

4. People can believe what they want.

But what if Hinduism is the real religion?

Well really, a Religious lifestyle is probably a more positive on to live. And it makes raising Children a whole lot easier.

But you see religion filled that void, giving us a purpose.
Most of us have beliefs. That doesn't mean that all of them are true.

Of course we set goals for ourselves, but there's no all-mighty being that told us to.

What about Albert Einstein? He was Jewish
or my dad?
My dad has a PhD from Cornell in physics, but he didn't have "religion hold him back"

What waste time and energy is building underground particle accelerators to try to figure out why we are here.
Religion isn't actually that much different than atheism.

Totally agree.

Your dad is not a leading scientist

Albert Einstein is not as modern as I meant.

My point from before still stands. A religious scientist is a scientist. It is not religion helping science.

Tom

Circumstantial at best
Maybe you should actually argue instead of just discrediting my evidence. Google it, you'll find tons of studies on it.

There's a reason intelligence corresponds with atheism very well.

It's a progression of science and technology. If you don't like it then feel free to unplug your computer.
